Wednesday, protests in response to a flawed election on December 27th continued, and so did the violence around it. Police officers attacked men, women, and children with stones, guns, whips, and other weapons. The protests were started when it was revealed that the government of Kenya had rigged the results of a close presidential race in favor of the incumbent, Mwai Kibaki, instead of the opposition, Raila Odinga, who was the elected winner. In the days since protests and the violence surrounding it has begun, over 600 people have died and more than 200,000 displaced. The leaders of the protests have vowed to continue for at least two more days, but if this violence continues, should it stay like this for that long?
